Day 24 - Elizabeth Harborne

It has been quite a long while since I worked on the sampler or even posted on it.  I have been busy working on other projects, writing essays and designing future projects.  Life has now firmly resumed it's normal pattern and I am glad that it has... hope it remains this way now for a long time.

I would love to show the silk embroidery project that passed, my first silk ribbon project and my pulled thread projects but cannot do so because of the parameters set forth by the judging committees.  I have enjoyed working on all of them though...and I am so glad that I had to research more on silk ribbon... it is a medium I would never have thought to pick up on my own.  I have gained a deep appreciation though for the creativity of milliners and seamstress of days gone by.  It allows you room for a lot of creative, dimensional stitches.

Anyway, I picked up the sampler again last night just to do something and take a brief pause from all the other deadline related projects and here are the results of last night's stitching...
Just established the bands further ....

and finished stitching two bands...

The band on top was charted for backstitches within the motives but I opted to do a pulled stitch instead in ecru silk. It is a way for my brain to switch gears for my next project up for submission at the end of this month I guess.

I am not sure when I will continue on this sampler... it will be worked on in between all the other projects but I am still planning to finish it by my birthday which is not too far off in the future now!

Have a good weekend!
