I am closing in on completing the Norwich sampler shortly - it had been an easy project and I must admit I wondered if I should ‘add’ other stitches ‘just’ to break up the monotony of simple cross stitch.
I have shared many  posts on my Facebook page on sampler stitching

I love your blog and this latest post is so interesting. I'm in awe of your ability and knowledge. I would love to be as accomplished as you, but embroidery classes move too quickly for me. With "physical"tasks I'm a slow learner and get overwhelmed easily. So I content myself with admiring other people's exquisite work. Thank you for your blog
Hi Linda Jenkins,
Thank you for taking the time and for sharing your reservations about classes. I was not feeling too great especially last Friday and had started writing this post but then I thought I had put it in the draft area because I noticed that the long March post after I returned from Advanced class at the Japanese embroidery center was apparently in the draft area and had never posted... and things were posting 'weirdly'. I think perhaps you were commenting to that post? Not sure why I can't reply directly right now either (I'll look at this over the weekend)
Anyway, I do understand that things can sometimes get overwhelming in a class setting... I firmly believe that we should all work at our own pace. I learned most of the needlework techniques from books and kits after the initial basic lessons my mother can grandmother gave me as a child. If you find yourself 'stuck' please don't hesitate to email me - I would have no issues with trying to help you if I know the answer.
Main thing is to enjoy the journey and our projects
Thanks again!
Nupur
Dear Nupur - please keep posting your finished works and your thoughts about the stitching process. For lone stitchers like me it is so inspiring to see what a really accomplished needleworker can do. Yes, there is a lot of noise online, but that makes your signal so much the more valuable. I second what Elaine has said. I re-joined the local guild, simply for company after I was widowed, but find I cannot concentrate, so only take simple projects with me to the meetings. And yes the clamour to finish and 'show' multiple pieces I find intimidating, and I am learning to walk to the beat of my own drum.
Blessings
Maxine
